Buffaloe Road Produce started up again on Saturday, May 30th. We’re offering fresh produce from the Farmer’s Market at bargain prices from 8:00 a.m. – Noon. It’s a great way to meet others in your neighborhood. Find us outside First Alliance Church and come say hello!

5th Sunday Potluck! August 30th at noon
Don’t miss our next FAC “5th Sunday” Potluck lunch on Sunday August 30th at 12:00. It can be a main dish, side or dessert. Crockpots are a great way to keep your main dish hot during the service! Hope to see you there!
Come to the Table dinners – Tuesdays at the Bridge Café from September 1 at 6:00 PM
Our popular “Come to the Table” dinners on Tuesday nights will start up again on September 1st at 6 pm, continuing every Tuesday through November 17. All are welcome to join their neighbors for a homemade soup, salad, bread and dessert meal at First Alliance Church’s Bridge Café on 4400 Buffaloe Road, Raleigh. Suggested donation of $4.
During and after dinner we’ll have opportunity to engage in focused table discussions to help us get to know each other better.
If you’d like to help cook or clean up, there’s a sign up sheet in the foyer.
New this Fall is the option to be part of the after-dinner “Growing Gracefully” Bible study, led by Chip & Kathie Stansbury at 7 pm. in the Education Building next door. For more information on the Bible study contact the Stansburys at [email protected] or 703-405-8068 (Chip).
Community Breakfast
Come join us every Thursday at 9:30 a.m. for a homecooked breakfast for $4 (suggested donation) and a chance to meet new friends in your neighborhood. This is an informal gathering led by Pastor Dan — with an opportunity to share prayer requests. Hope to see you there this week!
Card Games at the Bridge Café – Wednesday September 16 and Thursday September 24
Do you enjoy playing card games? Our card playing hostess Vicki Strayer is back at the Bridge Café — and will meet on the third Wednesday and the fourth Thursday of the month. (For September this is Wednesday the 16th and Thursday the 24th )

Monthly Prayer – Sunday, September 6th in the Education Building at First Alliance Church
Come join us on Sunday September 6th at 6 pm as we lift our church family and community up to a prayer-hearing and prayer-answering God. We’ll meet in the Education Building in Room 1. We meet on the first Sunday of every month at 6 pm.
The Story Weavers Writers Club – Saturday Afternoons in the Bridge Café
Do you enjoy writing and being with other writers? Then consider joining the Story Weavers Writers Club! We meet on Saturdays once a month from 1:00-3:00 pm in the Bridge Café area of First Alliance Church. This informal gathering is a chance to share poems, short stories, memoirs or dramatic productions that we have written — and encourage each other to write. You are welcome even if you can’t come every week. We always have coffee available and you can bring a snack to share if you wish. Library in the Education Building at First Alliance Church
Did you know that First Alliance has a library in the Education Building brimming with Christian books, audio tapes and DVD’s for you and your family? Anyone is free to borrow or keep any of the materials they find useful there. And if you would like to donate Christian books or DVD’s there is a Donation Box in the library.
Live Oaks Group – next meeting in September
Our Live Oaks social group (for those 55+ young at heart members) is taking a break for the summer. But new events are coming for Fall including a potluck dinner with retiring missionaries from Indonesia, JP & Judy Schultz on Thursday September 10th at 6:15 pm. In October a tour of Hope Reins will allow us to see the wonderful work this Christian charity does pairing challenged kids with rescue horses and a trained Christian mentor (date to be announced). On Thursday November 5th at 7:00 pm, while we enjoy some delicious desserts! – we’ll hear from a security expert on how to prevent scamming.
The September potluck and November desserts talk will be held at North Ridge Church, 7601 Falls of Neuse Road, Raleigh 27615.

Ladies Prayer Partner Co-Op
First Alliance Women! Come join us in the “If Only” Women’s Prayer Partnership. For all women who have, at one time , said: “If only I had someone to talk to or pray with.” Now is your chance! We are starting up women’s prayer partners again and would love to see the bulk of our FAC women join.
Please sign up on the sheet in the foyer. You will be paired with another woman who you will touch base with weekly (text, email, phone call) — and hopefully meet with in person for a short visit monthly. See Carolann for details – 847 644 4864
The Bridge Café Coffee Shop
The Bridge Café at First Alliance Church is usually open Thursdays from 8:30 – 11:30 a.m. including the weekly Community Breakfast at 9:30 a.m. (All welcome! Homecooked meal for $4 and meet new friends!) Other days the Café and First Alliance are open for special events.
Food Pantry open for donations
First Alliance sponsors a free Food Pantry for our community, offering non-perishable food and small toiletries to our neighbors in need. We rely completely on local donations so if you would like to donate some of these items please bring them to the donation box in the entry to First Alliance Church at 4400 Buffaloe Road, Raleigh.
Food Pantry at First Alliance Church
Did you know about the Community Food Pantry at 4400 Buffaloe Road? (in parking lot of First Alliance Church). It was started by neighborhood residents Allison & Brandon DeLucca with the help of Dan Rothra, Kent Hoffman and Nora Hoffman (all in the photo) as a service to our neighborhood.
The Pantry is open 24/7 with the motto “Take What You Need – Leave What You Can.” It operates solely on the generosity of the Buffaloe Road community and First Alliance Church.
If you wish to donate non-perishable food or small toiletry items, you can leave them inside the pantry cupboard – or deliver to the Bridge Cafe (entrance to First Alliance Church) Thursday (8:30 – 11:30 a.m.) or Sunday (10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.)
